The 5-foot-2 junior pole vaulter won the Class 7A state championship this past season, clearing 13 feet, four inches to help the Indians finish fifth as a team. Segroves set the state record in the event a year ago with a clearance of 13-8. Her title-winning height this spring ranked tied for 18th nationally among prep girls competitors.
Segroves has maintained an A-plus average in the classroom. She will begin her senior year of high school this fall.
Segroves has volunteered locally in her capacity as a member of both the National Honor Society and Beta Club. She has donated her time assisting youth athletes and helped fundraise more than $2,000 for the Westbrook Vault Club. She has also assisted with the distribution of holiday gifts by her school’s Campus Security Council.
