The 5-foot-5 senior left-handed pitcher and outfielder had led the Golden Knights to a 20-6 record and a berth in the sectional finals at the time of her selection. Rodriguez owned a 20-5 record and a 1.03 ERA in the circle along with a.636 batting average, six home runs and 21 RBI through 25 games. An All-League, All-County and All-State honoree, she has struck out just three times at the plate in four varsity seasons and is ranked as the nation's No. 7 recruit in the Class of 2017 by FloSoftball.
Rodriguez has maintained a 3.65 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at UCLA this fall.
Rodriguez has volunteered locally on behalf of a homeless shelter, a food pantry and youth softball camps. "Skill-wise, Rodriguez is just unbelievable," said Keith Johnson, head coach at Northern Valley/Demarest High. "She throws hard and she throws well, and she can change the course of the game so much with her bat. We pitched to her once in three years and I don't think the ball has landed yet."
