At the time of her selection, the 6-foot-1 senior guard had led the Cowgirls to a 38-3 record and the team’s first berth in the state tournament in program history. LaMendola averaged 17.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 steals per game through 41 contests to help Coppell win its first district championship in 11 years. She also led Coppell to its first regional semifinals since 1990.
LaMendola has maintained a 3.85 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at Indiana University this fall.
LaMendola has volunteered locally on behalf of Unified and Special Olympics basketball, offering instruction to young girls in the community. She also has donated her time providing meals for the homeless and delivering gifts from Santa to children in need.
