At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior guard had led the Thunderbirds to a 27-0 record and a berth in the Class A state semifinals. Dotzler averaged 16.3 points, 5.1 assists, 4.2 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game through 27 games. A 2022 First Team All-State selection, he entered the state semifinals with 1,325 points in his prep basketball career. His brother, Josh, was the state’s Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year in the 2004-05 season.
Dotzler has maintained a 3.60 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at Creighton University this fall.
A member of his local chapter of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Dotzler has volunteered extensively with Abide Omaha, a non-profit devoted to revitalizing the inner city.
