The 6-foot-5, 230-pound sophomore thrower won the shot put and discus throw at the Class 4A state meet this past season, leading the Bulldogs to the team title. Sonderegger’s personal-best toss in the discus of 187 feet, 5 inches at the Kimberly One Last Tri meet ranked No. 81 nationally among prep boys competitors this spring. He also ripped a personal-best 59-2.5 in the shot at the state meet.
Sonderegger has maintained a 4.0 GPA in the classroom and ranks No. 1 in his class. He will begin his junior year of high school this fall.
A member-elect of the Kimberly High student council, Sonderegger has volunteered locally as a youth track coach. He has also donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through his church youth group.
