The 6-foot-3, 170-pound senior won two individual events and ran the second leg on the title-winning 4x400-meter relay at the state meet this past season, leading the Hurricanes to third place as a team. McQueen leapt 21 feet, 8.5 inches to win the long jump and soared 44-9.75 to take the triple jump. He also took sixth in the high jump.
McQueen has maintained a B average in the classroom. He will attend Oglethorpe University in Georgia this fall, where he will compete in track and field.
McQueen has volunteered locally on behalf of a youth gymnastics program.
