The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 6-foot-2, 155-pound senior forward led the Cougars (27-2-2) to the Class 4A state championship this past season. Lynam scored 55 goals and passed for 17 assists, including scoring both goals in a 2-1 win over Wooster High in the state final. A two-time First Team All-State selection, he conclude his prep soccer career with 109 goals and 51 assists.
Lynam has maintained a weighted 3.26 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play soccer on scholarship at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas this fall.
Lynam has volunteered locally as a youth soccer coach and referee. “John Lynam is a quick, sneaky player,” said Andrew Risheg, head coach of Foothill High. “He beats players with both pure speed and also with finesse.”
