Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot-1, 190-pound senior quarterback passed for 3,379 yards and 38 touchdowns this past season, leading the Lakers (10-2) to the Class 6A state quarterfinals. Layne completed 71.5 percent of his passes (201-of-281) and also rushed for 322 yards and six touchdowns. The Three Rivers League Offensive Player of the Year, he is a two-time First Team All-League selection.

Academic Achievement

Layne has maintained a weighted 4.31 GPA in the classroom and will graduate with a Bilingual Diploma in Spanish. He remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.

Exemplary Character

Layne has volunteered locally as a youth math tutor in addition to serving as a youth football and basketball camp counselor. He has also donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through the National League of Young Men, a philanthropic and leadership organization based in the Portland area.
