“To say that Jace was an impact player in our program is an understatement.I have known Jace Henderson since she was in 8th grade and a member of my 14 1's Montana Juniors Club Volleyball team! It was more than apparent at that time what a potentially fabulous athlete and volleyball player she could become! This was evidenced in the first three weeks of her 14 1's club season when I made probably the best coaching decision of my 31 years by moving her to the setting position instead of outside hitter. Little did I know that a short three months following that club season Jace would become my first ever freshman starting setter in our highly successful high school program! In no way did she disappoint us, despite missing numerous matches due to injury, she still was named second team all conference setter as a freshman! Her final three years as a Varsity starter truly established her as not only one of the best to ever play the game at Billings Senior, but in the state of Montana, as well! Her leadership ability off and on the court helped us to create one of the most successful runs in Montana volleyball history. Largely because of Jace's leadership we won 89 of the last 94 matches she participated in finishing as Montana AA runners up 2011 and back to back State Champions in 2012 and 2013. To say that Jace was an impact player in our program is an understatement. She will be missed as much for her personality and love of the game/teammates as her athletic ability. I have had the privilege to coach many great high school volleyball players who went on to successful collegiate careers and I believe Jace will be even better at the next level than she was for us! Finally, it was more than fitting that Jace became the first ever back to back winner of the Montana Gatorade Player of the Year Award!”
