The 6-foot-8, 239-pound senior center averaged 20.0 points, 12.2 rebounds, 5.8 blocks and 1.0 assists per game this past season, leading the Indians (17-14) to the 11th Region Tournament quarterfinals. The 11th Region Player of the Year, Cozart is a two-time First Team All-State selection and was a finalist for the state’s Mr. Basketball award. He concluded his prep basketball career with 1,575 points, 1,268 rebounds and a state-record 716 blocked shots.
Cozart has maintained a weighted 3.23 GPA in the classroom and represents one of the state’s top academic candidates in meeting the Gatorade award’s broad criteria. He has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at Western Kentucky University beginning this fall.
The son of a pastor, Cozart has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach and he has donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through his church youth group.
