The 6-foot, 175-pound senior thrower swept the javelin and discus events at the LHSAA Class 2A state meet this past season. At the Summer Sizzle Throws Meet, Herzenberg launched the jav 229 feet, 0 inches, which ranked No. 1 nationally among prep boys competitors this spring and No. 16 in prep history. He is a four-time state champion in the javelin and was also an All-State selection in boys soccer.
Herzenberg has maintained a 4.15 weighted GPA in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to compete on scholarship at the University of Nebraska this fall.
Herzenberg has volunteered locally on behalf of the Saint Bernard Project, a New Orleans-based disaster recovery nonprofit. He has also donated his time to the Special Olympics through Jefferson Parish Schools and as co-chair of the annual Barkus Parade, which fundraises to support animal welfare.
