The 5-foot-10 senior infielder had led the Panthers to a 21-1 record and a berth in the Class 5A state tournament at the time of her selection. Ava batted .719 with 15 home runs and 58 RBI through 22 games, drawing 21 walks against just one strikeout in 80 plate appearances. She had 51 runs scored and stolen 10 bases. The 2017 Class 5A MVP and three-time First Team All-State selection hit three home runs in one postseason game this spring and owned an on-base percentage of .800 and a 1.632 slugging percentage at the time of her selection.
Ava has maintained a B average in the classroom. She has signed a national letter of intent to play softball on scholarship at Brigham Young University this fall.
Ava has volunteered locally as part of community beautification projects and as a youth softball coach.
