At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound senior right-handed pitcher and outfielder had led the Athletics (17-3) to the Class A state tournament, scheduled to begin June 11. VaDeer compiled a 4-1 record on the mound with a 0.19 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 37.2 innings pitched through 20 games. A two-time First Team All-State selection and the state’s No. 3 ranked prospect in the Class of 2025 by Prep Baseball, he also batted .418 with eight home runs, 37 RBI, 27 runs scored while producing a 1.377 OPS.
VaDeer has maintained a 4.20 weighted GPA in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play baseball at Creighton University this fall.
A two-year varsity baseball captain and the president of his school’s chapter of the National Honor Society, he has played an active role on the prom committee and has volunteered locally to support local cancer fundraising auctions.
