"Hunter Thompson is a gifted athlete, an extremely talented setter, and a ferrous competitor. Her team relied heavily on her consistent accuracy and touch but also on the fact that she is an all out giver -- a sponge that soaks up the negative stress from teammates. It is amazing that she somehow always displays the right body language, the right facial expression, and how she radiates confidence and support - staying solid throughout every situation. She separates herself not just due to her physical and athletic abilities but also because of leadership attributes, competitive drive, and selfless approach to being a teammate. Poised with self-confidence, composure, and mental toughness combined with her solid technical skill, her court sense, and fighting spirit made her the glue that held our team together. Her passion and drive was rewarded with the 2013 AAA State Championship! Besides being an incredible setter, Hunter is strong in character. She is trustworthy, responsible, and dependable in all situations. Maintaining a 4.1 GPA, Hunter placed priority on successfully managing and balancing academics, athletics, and a healthy social life. She is an excellent role model both on and off the court - consistently doing the right thing always showing respect and offering help to teammates and coaches. With her gift of leadership by example, she won the respect, love, and admiration of her teammates and coaches. Truly, she has represented her family, school, team, and coaches with pride and honor. I am so thankful for the priceless time I have shared with Hunter as a member of the Brentwood High School Volleyball Team and I will cherish the memories. She leaves a strong legacy for future student athletes to admire. ”
