Academic Achievement

Mong has maintained a 3.60 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at the University of San Francisco this fall.

Mong has volunteered locally on behalf of Kateri Park Catholic Charities and youth sports programs. Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot-2, 165-pound senior won the 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.78 as well as the 1500 in 3:50.52 at altitude at the Class 6A state meet this past season. Mong's winning time in the 1500 ranked as the nation's No. 3 performance among prep competitors in 2017 at the time of his selection, and his season-best time of 1:51.38 in the 800 ranked No. 30 nationally.
