The 6-foot-2, 165-pound senior quarterback passed for 1,349 yards and 19 touchdowns against just two interceptions this past season, completing 64.2 percent of his throws to lead the Hawks (11-2) to the Division I state championship. Hasselbeck also rushed for 740 yards on 76 attempts, averaging 9.7 yards per carry, and scored 11 touchdowns. He compiled 223 total yards and three touchdowns in Xaverian’s 31-25 win over St. John’s Prep in the state final. A three-star football recruit and ranked as the state’s No. 4 recruit by 247Sports, Hasselbeck is also an elite lacrosse prospect who had offers to Maryland, North Carolina and Notre Dame, among others. He is the son of former NFL quarterback Matt Hasselbeck.
Hasselbeck maintains an A average in the classroom. He signed a National Letter of Intent to play football on scholarship at UCLA this fall.
Hasselbeck serves as a peer minister and as a mentor to underclassmen at Xaverian.
