The 5-foot-6 sophomore midfielder and forward led the Knights to a 16-2-1 record and the Class 1A state final this past season. Waksman scored 87 goals and passed for 14 assists, and had a goal-involvement in every game of the regular season. In the postseason, she scored 24 goals and added two assists to lead her team to the title game, spearheading the best season in Pine School history. Waksman averaged over five goal-involvements a game and led the state in goals-scored. A member of Brazil’s Under-17 and Under-20 youth national teams, she was the TCPalm Player of the Year and the Florida Dairy Farmers Association Player of the Year.
Waksman has maintained a 3.67 GPA in the classroom. She will begin her junior year of high school this fall.
Waksman has volunteered locally on behalf of the United Way Thanksgiving food drive. She is also a founding member of her school’s Portuguese Club through which she shares details about the language, culture and food of Portugal and Brazil.
