At the time of her selection, the state’s three-time returning Gatorade Player of the Year had led the Red Raiders to an 18-4 record and a berth in the Division 1 state tournament quarterfinals. LaCedra, a 5-foot-6 senior right-handed pitcher, compiled an 18-4 mark in the circle through 22 games with a 0.38 earned run average and 317 strikeouts against just 23 walks in 149 innings pitched. At the plate, the two-time Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic was batting .394 with six triples, five doubles and a .697 slugging percentage entering the postseason round of eight.
LaCedra has maintained a weighted 4.09 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at the University of Massachusetts at Lowell this fall.
LaCedra has been working with Special Education students as an intern with the Lowell High physical education department this spring. She has volunteered locally as a youth softball coach.
