The 5-foot-10, 130-pound sophomore raced to the D.C. State Athletic Association individual championship this past season with a time of 16:34. McElhennon also won the Pacers Running DCXC Invitational, while placing second at the Washington Catholic Athletic Conference championships, fourth at the Glory Days Invitational and seventh at the Jesuit championships.
McElhennon has maintained a 4.33 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his junior year of high school this fall.
A devoted member of his church’s youth group, McElhennon has participated in summer service-mission trips and has volunteered locally on behalf of the Father McKenna Center for the homeless and low-income families.
