The 5-foot-11, 145-pound junior won the 1,600-meter and 3,200-meter run events, also taking second in the 800-meter run at the Class A state meet this past season, a performance that sparked the Storm to the team title. At the time of his selection, Hinrich’s winning time of 8:59.66 in the 3200 ranked No. 72 nationally among 2021 prep competitors. His personal-best 1600 clocking at the state meet ranked No. 97, and his season-best 1:52.61 in the 800 at the A-2 District Championships ranked No. 61.
Hinrichs has maintained a 3.54 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
Hinrichs has volunteered locally as a youth sports coach through the Elkhorn Athletic Association in addition to donating his time to multiple community service initiatives through his church.
