The 6-foot-1, 140-pound junior won his second straight Class A state meet this past season in an all-class best time of 15:33.19, breaking the tape 21.43 seconds ahead of his next-closest competitor and leading the Rangers to seventh place as a team. Schretenthaler also finished 45th at the Nike Cross Northwest Regional Championships. He is the school record-holder for 5K as well as in the 1,600 and 3,200-meter run on the outdoor track.
Schretenthaler has maintained a 3.12 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
A saxophonist in the Park High wind ensemble, jazz band, pep band and marching band, Schretenthaler has volunteered locally as a school library assistant and he has donated his time to multiple friends and neighbors with a variety of tasks.
