The 5-foot-11, 140 pound junior broke the tape at the Class 4A State Championships with a personal-best time of 15:07.7 this past season, leading the Hawks to a third-place finish as a team. Zuber won 7 of 10 races he entered last fall. He also recorded marquee wins at the Rim Rock Classic and the Fort Dodge Invitational.
Zuber has maintained a 4.06 weighted GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
A member of his school’s Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter, Zuber has volunteered locally with the We Finish Together organization, which presents used race medals adorned with “Champion of the Day” inspirational messages to a community children’s hospital. He has also donated his time assisting with food drives to help supply local food pantries.
