The 5-foot-8, 135-pound junior broke the tape at the Division 1 State Championships this past season in an all-class fastest time of 16:35.2, earning his second consecutive state championships while pacing the Sallies to the team title. Walther took 11th in the featured Eastern States Championship race at the Manhattan Invitational. He also won the Blue Division race at the Great American Cross Country Festival.
Walther has maintained a 4.10 weighted GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
A member of his school’s National Honor Society, Walther has volunteered locally as a youth lacrosse coach. While attending Delaware Military Academy, he was a National Junior ROTC platoon leader and held the rank of chief.
