The 6-foot-9, 225-pound senior forward averaged 23.4 points, 9.7 rebounds, 4.7 assists and 3.5 blocks this past season, leading the Rangers (31-4) to the 4A state championship. Paymon was also named the state’s 4A Mr. Basketball. He is rated as the nation’s No. 141 recruit in the Class of 2024 by On3 and No. 1 in Mississippi.
Paymon has maintained a B average in the classroom. He has verbally committed to play basketball on scholarship at Mississippi State University this fall.
Paymon has volunteered locally as a traffic guide during Jackson State University football home games. He also has donated his time as part of multiple community service initiatives through his church and other non-profit organizations.
