“Combining a high tolerance for discomfort in track’s most grueling race along with precise race execution, Emmry emerged as among the best in state history and the sixth-fastest of all time in her event among prep girls. Her progress is rare and special.”

The 5-foot-6 senior middle distance and distance talent earned All-American honors in the 800-meter run at New Balance Nationals Outdoor this past season, and her second-place time of 2:00.25 set a state record in addition to ranking No. 2 nationally among prep girls competitors this spring. Ross is ranked No. 3 in the world among Under-20s in the 800 and her mark is No. 6  girls high school history.
