The 5-foot-10, 130-pound senior won the Division I state meet with a time of 16:23.80, breaking the tape 12 seconds ahead of the next-closest competitor and leading the Hilltoppers to the state title. Also Caledonian Record Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year, Johnson took 11th at the New England Cross Country Championships with a time of 15:48. He crossed line 32nd at the NXN Northeast Regional with a time of 16:34.50.
Johnson has maintained an A average in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to run at the University of Massachusetts Amherst this fall.
A member of the National Honor Society, Johnson has volunteered locally with a nonprofit that maintains community recreational areas.
