“Emma Sralla, already a World Under-20 gold medalist at age 18, brought excitement to the discus event not seen in a decade among prep girls competitors. She loomed as a serious threat to break the national high school record every time she stepped in the ring, achieving two of the top 10 throws in prep history.”

Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot-1 senior set the state discus record with a throw of 195 feet, 10.5 inches this past season as part of the multi-week Oklahoma Throws Series to become the No. 2 girls prep competitor in history in the event. The effort marked the best performance by a prep athlete in 11 years. Sralla, who won the state 6A individual title in the event this spring, also launched the implement 193-8 at the Jesuit-Sheaner Relays, making her one of only two athletes with multiple top 10 all-time throws, along with 2011-12 Gatorade National Player of the Year Shelbi Vaughan. Representing Sweden internationally, she is the reigning World Under-20 discus gold medalist.
