Emily McCutcheon Gatorade 2022 - 2023: Player of the Year Softball

“She hits for average, power and is a true leader on that team. She would own all of Alaska’s offensive records if she had four full years of high school (and didn’t lose her freshman year due to the Covid-19 pandemic). I’d say McCutcheon is the most dangerous player in the state.”

Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-4 senior shortstop led the Wolverines (26-6) on a run to the Division I state title game this past season. McCutcheon batted .573 with 19 home runs and 56 RBI, posting a 2.052 OPS. The 2021-22 Gatorade Alaska Softball Player of the Year, she concluded her prep career as a two-time state champion with 50 home runs.

Academic Achievement

McCutcheon has maintained a 3.84 weighted GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball on scholarship at Western Washington University.

Exemplary Character

McCutcheon has volunteered locally on behalf of several food drives, a shelter for women and children and as a softball instructor.
