The 6-foot-3, 180-pound senior center fielder led the Cavaliers to a 19-7 record and a berth in the Class 6A state tournament, scheduled to begin May 26. Cary batted .512 with 22 RBI, 25 stolen bases and 31 runs scored through 26 games. He compiled a .598
