The 6-foot, 185-pound senior forward led the Buff n' Blu to a 13-2-2 record and the Division I state championship this past season. McKenna scored 16 goals and passed for 11 assists, including one tally in Punahou's 2-1 win over Kaiser High in the state final. The Honolulu Star-Advertiser Player of the Year, he was the ILH Offensive Player of the Year and the Division I state tournament's most outstanding player.
McKenna has maintained a 3.42 GPA in the classroom. He will attend Brigham Young University, where he will play soccer, beginning this fall.
An Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, McKenna has volunteered as a Boy Scouts group leader and as part of multiple community-service initiatives through his church. "Duncan McKenna was a dangerous and impactful player, especially in the big games and big moments," said Ryan Lau, head coach of Kapolei High. "He could play in space and most importantly while marked or when space was limited."
