The 5-foot-10, 120-pound junior won both an individual and a relay championship at the Class AAA state meet this past season, leading the Hawks to a fourth place finish as a team. Zundell’s broke the tape in 1600-meter run with a time of 4:08.44, which ranked No. 33 nationally among prep competitors in 2023. He also anchored the 4x800 relay quartet that won the title in 7:53.44. He took eighth in the 3200 run at the RunningLane Championships with a time of 8:58.84, which ranked No. 84 nationally this spring.
Zundell has maintained a weighted 4.02 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
Zundell has volunteered locally on behalf of the Special Olympics and has donated his time by painting and mailing watercolor cards to nursing homes residents in the community.
