She continued to take on the biggest role offensively, along with passing and defense, and was exceptional. Really unstoppable. Athletic Excellence

The 5-foot-10 senior outside hitter led the Eagles to a 29-0 record and a second consecutive Class 5A state title this past season. Russell amassed 383 kills, averaging 4.4 per set, and compiled a .395 hitting percentage, helping Valor Christian earn the nation’s No. 26 ranking in the MaxPreps Top 50. She also recorded 307 digs and 47 service aces. The 2023 Class 5A CHSAA Player of the Year, she was named a VBallRecruiter National Senior Player of the Year Finalist.

Academic Achievement

Russell has maintained a 4.17 weighted GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to play volleyball on scholarship at the University of Montana this fall.

Exemplary Character

A recipient of the seal of biliteracy in the Spanish language, Russell has volunteered as a shadow on behalf of the nursing department at Denver Health. She has also donated her time to Operation Christmas Child and as a youth volleyball camp coach.
