“I thought he was the best high school baseball player in Kentucky a year ago and that hasn’t changed. He’s only gotten better. He continues to have elite bat-to-ball skills, but the difference this year is the off-season work he put in on his body. It’s clear he’s become stronger and it has translated into his game. He’s clearly one of the best in the country.”

Athletic Excellence

The state’s returning Gatorade Player of the Year, the 6-foot, 195-pound senior outfielder led the Shamrocks to a 41-2 record, the statewide tournament championship and a No. 7 national ranking by MaxPreps this past season. Also the state’s 2021 Mr. Baseball award winner, Lile batted .550 with 66 runs scored along with 11 doubles, 12 triples, 18 home runs and 60 RBI. A two-time Perfect Game All-American and two-time MaxPreps U.S. Top 50 Player, he walked 39 times and struck out just seven in 155 plate appearances, posting an OBP of .680, a 1.413 slugging percentage and an eye-popping OPS of 2.093. He is ranked No. 33 among the Top 100 high school pro draft prospects by Baseball America and as the nation’s No. 2 outfielder by Prep Baseball Report.
