“She is a versatile and flexible playerDarian is a wonderful young lady and has been a strong leader/captain for us the past few years. She is a versatile and flexible player who has put the needs of her team above herself to help us achieve tremendous success. She is an unselfish player who has proven to be a valuable asset to our programs goals. Her dedication to her sport with her skills and abilities through hard work and her perseverance has made her one of the most competitive and top players in our area as well as our state. She is a deserving individual and our team, school, and our Wakefield Community is very proud that she was selected the state of North Carolina Gatorade Player of the Year. She is also our first Volleyball player to ever attain this award. It is my pleasure to have been her high school coach and I am very appreciative of how she has carried herself as a student-athlete but more importantly how she has positively carried herself as a young lady and as an ambassador for the sport of volleyball. I wish her God-speed and God Bless as she begins her collegiate career as a University of Kentucky Wildcat Player.”
