The 6-foot-3, 205-pound senior quarterback led the Friars to an 11-1 record and the Catholic High School Football League AAA state championship this past season. Torres passed for 3,320 yards and 35 touchdowns, and also rushed for 504 yards and 13 scores. He ran for two TDs in St. Anthony’s 20-point fourth-quarter comeback to beat St. Francis High, 27-20, in the state final.
Torres has maintained an A-minus average in the classroom. At the time of his selection, he remained undecided upon a collegiate destination.
Torres has volunteered locally as a youth football coach and referee.
