“He constantly set a positive example for his teammates, working hard at all times and encouraging others to do the same."Daniel Hazlett (Hanover High, NH) is a Gatorade POY on and off the field because of his consistently positive and unselfish attitude. He was our best player in many of our games this year, but he was even more regularly our best player in practice. He constantly set a positive example for his teammates, working hard at all times and encouraging others to do the same. He went out of his way to be friendly and supportive to younger players on our JV and Freshman teams, both on the field and during the school day. Imagine the positive impact on a young player, being recognized in the hallway with a friendly greeting! Daniel received all sorts of recognition after our undefeated season and state championship, yet he never failed to share the credit with his teammates, and continues to remain humble and hardworking, with even bigger academic and athletic goals in his sight.”
