The 5-foot-11, 150-pound senior set Class 3A state meet records in the 200- and 400-meter dash this past season, leading the Rabbits to a second-place finish as a team. Draper broke the tape in the 400 with a time of 47.04 seconds, which ranked No. 22 in the nation among prep competitors in 2018 at the time of his selection. He won the 200 in 21.29 seconds and he also took first in the 100 in 10.53, which ranked No. 43 in the nation. Despite spending much of the spring nursing an injured hamstring, his top time of 21.12 seconds in the 200 at the BYU High School Invitational in May represents a state record and ranked No. 26 in the nation this spring.
Draper has maintained a 3.92 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at Brigham Young University this fall.
An Eagle Scout with the Boy Scouts of America, Draper has been an active member of his school’s leadership team. He has volunteered locally as a peer tutor and has donated his time on behalf of multiple community service initiatives through his church youth group.
