Athletic Excellence

The 6-foot-2, 210-pound senior right-handed pitcher and first baseman had led the Lancers to a 23-7 record and the Division I Southern Section Open Division second round at the time of his selection. The 2016-17 Gatorade Colorado Baseball Player of the Year, Winn, a transfer student, owned a 7-2 record on the mound with a 0.23 ERA through 30 games. In 62 innings pitched, Winn has struck out 101 batters and walked just nine while limiting opponents to a batting average of just .113. Offensively, Winn owned a .270 batting average with four home runs, 21 RBI, 14 runs and 12 walks entering the postseason’s second round. He is ranked as the No. 10 recruit in the Class of 2018 by Perfect Game and the No. 16 MLB Draft prospect by Baseball America.
