The 5-foot-9, 135-pound senior raced to his third straight Class 5A individual state championship this past season with a course-record time of 15:12.7. The state’s returning Gatorade Boys Cross Country Runner of the Year, Sprout won the Nike Cross Nationals Southwest Regional championships with a time of 14:41.38, and finished seventh nationally at the NXN Final, earning All-American honors. He also broke the tape at the Liberty Bell Invitational and the Region 2 championships, while taking second at the Nike Desert Twilight Festival.
Sprout has maintained a 3.98 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete in cross country and track and field on scholarship at Stanford University this fall.
Sprout has volunteered locally on behalf of the Denver Rescue Mission, and has participated in a service-mission trip to Ethiopia.
