The 6-foot-5, 190-pound junior guard led the Knights to a 23-11 record and the semifinals of the North Carolina Independent Schools 1A tournament this past season. White averaged 31.4 points, 7.2 rebounds and 6.1 assists per game. An All-State selection and the Coastal Plain Independent Conference Player of the Year, he is ranked as the nation's No. 33 recruit in the Class of 2018 by ESPN.
White has maintained a 3.06 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
White has volunteered locally collecting Christmas gifts for foster children. "Coby White is very, very tough to defend," said David Flowers, head coach at Wayne Country Day School. "He can score any way that he wants to. He can get to the rim, he can shoot from outside the arc-he's just a different-level kid."
