The 5-foot-2 senior distance talent took bronze in the 2-mile run at New Balance Outdoor Nationals and her time of 9:59.18 ranked No. 5 nationally among prep girls competitors this spring. Huyler also captured state individual titles at 1500 and 3000 meters, leading the Pacers to tie for ninth in Class 6A. She placed fifth in the mile at the HOKA Festival of Miles in a personal-best time of 4:39.54, the No. 12 ranking nationally this year.
Huyler has maintained a 4.42 weighted GPA in the classroom. She has signed a written letter of athletic aid to compete at the University of Notre Dame this fall.
Huyler has volunteered extensively on behalf of Oregon Dog Rescue in Portland. She has also donated her time knitting blankets for the homeless and participating in food drives that support a local food bank.
