The 6-foot-5, 205-pound senior guard and forward averaged 24.7 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game while shooting 65.5 percent from inside the arc this past season, leading the Royals (26-2) to the Class 4A regional final. A First Team All-State selection, Brown is ranked as the nation's No. 31 recruit in the Class of 2017 by ESPN.
Brown has maintained a 3.53 GPA in the classroom and represents one of the state's top academic candidates in meeting the Gatorade award's broad criteria. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball on scholarship at Wake Forest University this fall.
Brown has volunteered locally serving meals to families in need and as a youth basketball coach. "Chaundee Brown has been outstanding all four years of his high school career," said Matt Ruta, head coach at Orangewood Christian School. "His ability to shoot, score in the half-court, score in transition, involve his teammates and defend is elite. Not only is he a great player, but he also carries himself with a great deal of character and respect. He always plays hard and is very sportsmanlike in his conduct on the floor."
