The 5-foot-11, 225-pound senior running back led the Dragons to a 14-0 record and the Class 5A state championship this past season. Spegal rushed for 3,168 yards and 55 touchdowns, including 160 yards and a score in a 27-20 win over Valparaiso High in the state final. A 2018 MaxPreps All-American and a three-time First Team All-State selection, Spegal concluded his prep football career with 10,867 rushing yards, 173 rushing touchdowns and 175 total touchdowns, each representing a state record.
Spegal has maintained a weighted 3.50 GPA in the classroom. He remains undecided upon a collegiate destination.
Spegal has volunteered locally with special needs children and as a youth camp counselor.
