The 5-foot-10, 165-pound senior midfielder led the Trojans to a 20-0-2 record and a second-straight Class AAA state championship this past season. Piller scored six goals and passed for 16 assists, setting up both of Wayzata’s goals in a 2-0 win over Maple Grove High in the state title game. A First Team All-State selection, he concluded his prep soccer career with 14 goals and 24 assists.
Piller has maintained a B-plus average in the classroom. He will attend St. Olaf College, where he will play soccer, beginning this fall.
Piller has volunteered locally at CROSS Services, which helps families and individuals in need. He has also donated his time as an elementary school teacher’s aide and as a youth soccer coach and mentor.
