The state’s returning Gatorade Girls Track & Field Player of the Year, the 5-foot-4 senior swept the 100-, 200- and 400-meter dash at the Class 5A state meet this past season, leading the Rams to a second-place finish as a team. At the time of her selection, Spicer’s winning 400 clocking of a personal-best 53.87 seconds ranked No. 17 nationally under all conditions among 2021 prep competitors. Her personal-best times in the 100 (11.48) and 200 (23.44) were the nation’s No. 16 and No. 10 all-conditions clockings in 2021 and the 100 performance was the No. 1 wind-legal time in state history. She concluded her prep track career with 17 individual state titles for indoor and outdoor track.
Spicer has maintained a 4.22 GPA in the classroom. She has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete on an athletic scholarship at the University of Alabama this fall.
An Alpha Kappa Alpha ASCEND Scholar, Spicer has volunteered as a mentor with Save Kids of Incarcerated Parents (SKIP) and on behalf of a food drive in association with the True Divine Baptist Church Backpack Ministry. She has also donated her time to the Samaritan’s Purse Project as well as tutoring peers in math during the pandemic shelter-in-place in association with Successful Math GEMS. A RAM Ambassador, a HOSA Future Health Professional and a member of the Key Club, Spicer ushers at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church in Birmingham. She graduated with more than 200 hours of community service on her resume.
