The state’s returning Gatorade Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year, the 6-foot-1, 170-pound junior finished second in the 400-meter dash at the Reykjavik International Games in Iceland this winter. Representing the National Athletic Sports Foundation, Larson crossed the line in 48.65 seconds, which ranked as the nation’s No. 30 mark among prep competitors during the 2020 indoor season. Larson swept the 100-meter dash, the 200 and the 400 at the Class A Outdoor state meet as both a freshman and sophomore. He also finished 12th in the Emerging Elite Division 400 race at the 2019 New Balance Nationals Outdoor.
Larson has maintained a 3.30 GPA in the classroom. He will begin his senior year of high school this fall.
Larson has volunteered locally with Open Your Heart, which collects food for families in need.
