The 6-foot-4, 202-pound senior guard had led the Cadets to a 19-7 record and a berth in the Class 5 state tournament at the time of his selection. Love averaged 26.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 2.6 steals through 26 games. A two-time Metro Catholic Conference Player of the year, Love was selected to play in the McDonald’s All-American Game. He entered the state tournament with 1,885 points in his prep basketball career.
Love has maintained a 3.29 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play basketball on scholarship at the University of North Carolina this fall.
A CBC student ambassador, Love has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach, and he has donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through his church youth group.
