The 6-foot-10, 225-pound senior forward led the Braves to a 28-3 record and the Class 2A state championship. Furst averaged 21.4 points, 14.1 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 2.2 blocks per game, and he recorded 19 points, seven boards and six blocks in Blackhawk’s 55-40 win over Parke Heritage High in the state final. Named Indiana’s Mr. Basketball, Furst is ranked as the nation’s No. 74 recruit in the Class of 2021 by ESPN.com. A four-time First Team All-State selection, he concluded his prep basketball career with 2,067 points and 1,254 rebounds.
Furst has maintained a 3.99 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball on scholarship at Purdue University this fall.
Furst has volunteered locally as a youth basketball coach, and he has donated his time to multiple community service initiatives through his church.
