The 6-foot-1, 195-pound senior shortstop led the Yellow Jackets (17-13) to the second round of the Class 5A state tournament this past season, batting .505 with six home runs, 25 RBI, 40 runs scored and a .620 on-base percentage. A two-time First Team All-State selection and a 2018 Perfect Game All-American Classic participant, Doughty is the top-ranked player in the state by both Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report.
Doughty has maintained a 3.45 GPA in the classroom. He has signed a national letter of intent to play baseball on scholarship at Louisiana State University beginning this fall, but is projected as an early round selection in June’s Major League Baseball draft.
A devoted member of his parish community, Doughty has volunteered locally on behalf of the REACH club and the Key Club, and has donated his time to cleanup efforts in his community following a devastating flood.
