At the time of his selection, the 6-foot-9, 255-pound senior left-handed pitcher had led the Shamrocks to a 14-6 record with the team’s postseason seeding pending. Bumila compiled a 4-0 record on the mound with a 0.60 ERA through 35 innings, fanning 85 batters against just seven walks to average 2.4 strikeouts per inning. Ranked as Baseball America’s No. 22 MLB Draft prospect in 2026 and as the nation’s No. 12 prospect in his class by Perfect Game, he also batted .361 with three home runs, 15 RBI, 13 runs scored and a 1.082 OPS through 20 games.
Bumila has maintained a B+ average in the classroom. He has signed a written letter of athletic aid to play baseball at the University of Texas this fall, but is projected as an early-round selection in July's Major League Baseball First Year Player Draft.
A gifted basketball player who was named the state’s Division I Player of the Year this past winter, Bumila has volunteered locally with the Special Olympics. He has also served as the co-president of Feehan Fanatics, the school’s fan organization, and as part of Bishop Feehan’s campus ministry program.
